The best performers of the session on the DAX were Deutsche Lufthansa AG (DE:LHAG), which rose 7.08% or 0.634 points to trade at 9.592 at the close. Meanwhile, Daimler AG NA O.N. (DE:DAIGn) added 3.70% or 1.285 points to end at 36.040 and Henkel & Co KGaA AG Pref (DE:HNKG_p) was up 3.30% or 2.61 points to 81.62 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Wirecard AG (DE:WDIG), which fell 71.28% or 8.769 points to trade at 3.533 at the close. Bayer AG NA (DE:BAYGN) declined 3.01% or 2.11 points to end at 68.06 and E.ON SE NA (DE:EONGn) was down 1.61% or 0.160 points to 9.768.
The top performers on the MDAX were Delivery Hero AG (DE:DHER) which rose 4.75% to 95.64, Symrise AG Inh. O.N. (DE:SY1G) which was up 3.86% to settle at 102.525 and Commerzbank AG O.N. (DE:CBKG) which gained 3.70% to close at 3.922.
The worst performers were Grand City Properties SA (DE:GYC) which was down 4.55% to 20.56 in late trade, Rocket Internet (DE:RKET) which lost 3.54% to settle at 19.07 and Fraport AG (DE:FRAG) which was down 2.63% to 38.840 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were RIB Software AG Na (DE:RIB) which rose 2.96% to 27.120, Siemens Healthineers AG (DE:SHLG) which was up 2.74% to settle at 43.15 and Sartorius AG VZO O.N. (DE:SATG_p) which gained 2.29% to close at 303.800.
The worst performers were Wirecard AG (DE:WDIG) which was down 71.28% to 3.533 in late trade, Nordex SE O.N. (DE:NDXG) which lost 3.27% to settle at 8.735 and Siltronic AG (DE:WAFGn) which was down 2.18% to 87.760 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 394 to 277 and 67 ended unchanged.
Shares in Wirecard AG (DE:WDIG) fell to 5-year lows; falling 71.28% or 8.769 to 3.533. Shares in Delivery Hero AG (DE:DHER) rose to all time highs; rising 4.75% or 4.34 to 95.64. Shares in Symrise AG Inh. O.N. (DE:SY1G) rose to all time highs; gaining 3.86% or 3.815 to 102.525. Shares in Wirecard AG (DE:WDIG) fell to 5-year lows; falling 71.28% or 8.769 to 3.533.
The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was down 4.44% to 37.23.
Gold Futures for August delivery was down 0.14% or 2.55 to $1772.55 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in August rose 2.29% or 0.87 to hit $38.88 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract rose 2.38% or 0.96 to trade at $41.27 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.20% to 1.1228, while EUR/GBP fell 0.14% to 0.9044.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.20% at 97.323.
